Please, if there is anyone out there that believes that obama is even remotely or abstractly in favor of any type of gun rights whatsoever, I really need to have you get in touch with me.
I own this beautiful bridge in New York City, and need to sell it. I will give you a terrific deal on it. You can then begin to collect tolls on the bridge, and become very rich, just as I have done.

From Obama's website:
Millions of hunters own and use guns each year. Millions more participate in a variety of shooting sports such as sporting clays, skeet, target and trap shooting that may not necessarily involve hunting. As a former constitutional law professor, Barack Obama believes the Second Amendment creates an individual right, and he greatly respects the constitutional rights of Americans to bear arms.

Now the supreme court just decided a case re: the rights of citizens of Washington DC to bear arms. The case centered on whether the 2nd amendment gave the individual the right to bear arms or whether it was meant only for militias. See the bold statement above.

No question: You get to keep your guns.

Bill,

You keep bringing Senator Obama's web site as "proof" of his positions. This just blows my mind! I don't believe in reading ANY politicians official website. Man, they promise anything and everything. They revise history. They will say most anything! Enough said on that.

What we must do as responsible voters is look at the issue and then see what he/she has actually VOTED on that issue. That is one thing that cannot be faked or covered up. Do a search on the net for "The political positions of Barack Obama" and you get over 3 million results! I especially like the one on wikipedia. It tell it like it is.

Anyway, my point is, don't read and listen to the "Party line" on an issue. Investigate through other avenues. See what the politician has to say and then verify it to see if he/she is just placating you for your vote.
