Fay Continues to Affect East Texas Weather
Tropical Depression Fay brought a north wind and a few showers to East Texas on Sunday, with similar conditions forecast for Monday.

At 4 p.m. Sunday, the center of the storm was about 90 miles due north of New Orleans, or about 325 miles east-southeast of Tyler over south-central Mississippi just east of the Mississippi River.

The storm, whose peak winds were down to about 30 mph, is expected to remain nearly stationary in its Sunday afternoon position before gradually moving off towards the northeast Tuesday morning.

The Tyler area should remain within range of its circulation until overnight Tuesday/Wednesday.

Widely scattered showers were over the area Sunday afternoon.

A few isolated showers formed west of a Bonham-Corsicana line as a result of daytime heating.

Meanwhile, a feeder band associated with Fay was moving southwestward through South Arkansas and Northern Louisiana. It was bringing widely scattered showers to the two tiers of counties west of the Louisiana border and north of Interstate 20.

These were forecast to dissipate with sunset.
