Richard “Mac” Griffith is the new vice president and chief development officer of institutional advancement at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler.

He was previously chief development officer for McNay Art Museum in San Antonio where he headed a $50 million capital campaign.

“I am honored to be part of an institution with such a rich history and a bright and exciting future,” Griffith said in a statement released by the hospital. The UT Health Science Center has some incredible signature programs that are unavailable elsewhere and that provide vital services to the East Texas community.”

During a tenure as president of CHRISTUS Schumpert Health System Foundation in Shreveport, Griffith helped raise more than $8 million. In Shreveport, he has also served in vice president positions with Commercial National Bank; director of information services, grants, and contracts at Louisiana State University Medical Centert; and director of alumni, assistant director of development, and instructor at Centenary College.

National Society of Fundraising Professionals named Griffith Outstanding Fundraising Professional of the Year.

He has a bachelor’s of science degree from Centenary College, and received a fellowship in nuclear physics at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and an administrative fellowship in public health service at Department of Health and Human Services.

Brody Clark will begin as new associate administrator for ETMC Quitman, on Aug. 18, announced Perry Henderson, ETMC senior administrator in Pittsburg and Quitman.

“Brody has a proven track record of managing a variety of hospital operations by working closely with physicians and employees to enhance services,” Henderson said.

Clark manage daily operations and implement long-term strategy,

He is administrative director–ancillary and clinical operations at Good Shepherd Medical Center – Marshall.

Dr. Allyson Hill McDonough, formerly of Tyler, has accepted a position at Scott & White Hospital University Medical Center in Round Rock where she will help establish a rheumatology center.

She recently completed a fellowship in rheumatology at the University of Alabama – Birmingham and is living in Round Rock with her husband, Loren, and three children.

She is a graduate of Bishop T.K. Gorman in Tyler, Texas A&M University and Texas A&M Medical School. She is the daughter of Kevin and LuAnn Hill of Ben Wheeler.

Andrews Center, a mental health services provider in East Texas, announced new directors.

Gloria Daughtry, was named director of services in Van Zandt County and Dennis Wicker was named director in Henderson County. Ms. Daughtry has master’s of social work degree from The University of Texas at Arlington and Wicker has a master’s of arts degree from Stephen F. Austin State University.

Honeywell and the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children announced that Marsha Hutson, a fifth-grade teacher at Winona Elementary School, is a first prize winner in the annual Got 2B Safe! Awards Program, recognizing teachers committed to child safety.

She will receive a $500 gift certificate for classroom supplies.

Got 2B Safe! Awards Program encourages teachers to submit lesson plans emphasizing how they have implemented the Got 2B Safe! rules for personal safety in their classroom.
