Whitehouse Heartbreakers Capture State Title
WHITEHOUSE — The Whitehouse Heartbreakers are state champs.

The Heartbreakers (18-0) scored eight runs on four hits and six walks in the third inning to defeat the Salado Lynx, 11-1, in the Texas Teenage Softball Association 10-and-under division Friday night.

Whitehouse’s Ronnie Fountain posted the victory on the mound, allowing two hits and striking out four. She also went 2-for-2 with two RBIs and a run at the plate.

Meanwhile, Micah Gray went 2-for-2 with two RBIs and two runs for the Heartbreakers.

Gray (Most Valuable Player) and Fountain (Defensive MVP) earned superlative honors.

Salado’s Jenna Wagnon was named Offensive MVP. She earned the win in Friday’s semifinal victory over the Bullard Heat.

The Heartbreakers defeated Salado twice in the tournament.
