Perry Appoints East Texans To Trinity River Authority
Jess Laird of Athens and Nancy Lavinski of Palestine are among six Gov. Rick Perry appointees to the Trinity River Authority, his office announced Friday.

Laird, of Athens, is president and CEO of First State Bank in Athens. He is a director of the Independent Bankers Association of Texas and a member of Texas Bankers Association. He replaces Nancy Perryman of Henderson for a term to expire March 15, 2011.

Lavinski is a retired teacher. She is a member of the Texas Classroom Teachers Associa-tion and serves as a principal and board member of The Royalty Valuation Services Group, Keptman Investments and Fox Hollow Ventures. She is being reappointed for a term to expire March 15, 2013.

Others appointed are David Leonard of Liberty Barbara Nash of Arlington, Jim Neale of Dallas and Carol Spillars of Madisonville.

The board develops and conserves the resources of the Trinity River Basin.
