Highway 31 Exit to Close Monday for Road Work
LONGVIEW — Texas Department of Transportation will close the Texas Highway 31 exit serving westbound Interstate 20 traffic beginning Monday as part of a six-month project.
As alternate routes, traffic can use the Loop 281 exit for Longview, and the FM 2087 exit for Kilgore, said Larry Krantz, TxDOT spokesman.
Crews will replace the bridge decking on the interstate overpass at Texas 31 and rebuild a lane adjacent to the bridge, Krantz said.
Westbound traffic will be reduced to one lane. Wide loads are prohibited and must take an alternate route.
Krantz said a temporary signal is at Texas Highway 42 and I-20 to assist traffic.
