East Texas Baptist Camp Meeting In Canton
The 11th annual East Texas Baptist Camp Meeting will be held at 7 p.m. nightly at the Canton Civic Center, on the First Monday grounds, Monday through Friday. There will be “soul-stirring Gospel music and campmeeting-style preaching every night,” said information from evangelist Dennis Erwin.

“This annual meeting provides a place for people from all over East Texas to enjoy great Southern Gospel music, Bible preaching and Christian fellowship,” said Erwin. “There is no cost or registration to attend and the meeting is open to the public.”

A “love offering” will be taken nightly to the cover the cost of the meeting, Erwin said.

Bible preaching will feature the Rev. Mark Thrift of Parkwood Baptist Church of Houston, the Rev. Ronnie Barefield of Unity Baptist Church of Ripley, Miss. and the Rev. Jimmy Russell of Thaxton Baptist Church of Thaxton, Miss.

Music will be provided nightly by the Erwin Family and Living Proof. The Rochester family of South Carolina will sing Monday through Thursday and the Bob Wills Family performs Friday night. “This is one of the largest religious meetings in East Texas,” Erwin said. “Since the 1800’s God has used these type of meetings as combination revival meeting, evangelistic outreach and Bible conference.”

A prayer meeting precedes each night’s event at 6:30 p.m.
